Getting into the holiday spirit once again this year, the Senior Human Resources Advisory Board (SHRAB) donated gifts to the Morristown Neighborhood House (MNH).
This year, the SHRAB adopted a group of 34 children aged 4 to 6. The Hope for the Holidays wish list of our kindergarten class included clothing, soccer balls, action heroes, dolls, trucks and cars. The response from SHRAB members was so strong, extra gifts were donated to provide for what might otherwise have been unmet needs. Additionally, gift cards were donated to struggling families.
We owe a special “shout out” to AJO’s Alice Yoson who managed the collection and distribution of the gifts. This was no easy feat as the children’s wish list had to be communicated to SHRAB members who in turn selected items from the list to purchase. Using her great coordination skills, Alice made sure that every child had his/her holiday wishes fulfilled.The gifts were either dropped off at AJO or collected at the SHRAB Holiday Reception held at the beginning of December. The photo below shows the SHRAB members who dropped off their gifts at the Reception. Andy and Alice delivered all the gifts to MNH earlier this month.
Our President, Andy O’Connor is not only the founder of the SHRAB, but he is also on the Board of Cornerstone Family Programs, serving as a great connector of the two organizations.
We want to thank all SHRAB members for their generosity again this year. As you can see from the note below, the gifts made the season special for this class.

Morristown Neighborhood House is a nonprofit organization that provides programs in Morristown, Dover, Denville and Frelinghuysen Middle School in NJ. In a typical day, over 1,500 infants and preschoolers; children and youth from elementary school through high school; and adults of all ages receive services through Neighborhood House.
A.J. O’Connor Associates (AJO) formed the Senior Human Resource Advisory Board (SHRAB) in June 2008 to bring together senior human resource leaders from organizations in the Tri-state area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut) and the Group has grown to over 70 members since its inception. The SHRAB meets quarterly to network, share ideas and current initiatives and to discuss business challenges.
